 Inscribed on the face. 0.018; nicely carved with slight serifs; slanting sigma and also slighlty slanting mu; theta with a very small dot; middle-shaped circular letters cut above the line. Findspot. First half of third century B.C.

Found in 1916 at Cyrene: South of the Caesareum.

Commentary

For the date, Oliverio said «buona epoca»; SEG, 9.178 has erroneously «second century B.C.». C. Dobias-Lalou says from photograph 'third century B.C.'.

With such a date, compounds in -φύης are very few in Cyrenaica; the father's name being the same, the name at l. 4 may be taken as identical with that at IGCyr065210, l. 97.

The lettering being homongeneous, this should not be a list of priests, as suggested by Hondius in SEG , whereas Oliverio cautiously mentioned a «lista pubblica».
