All commentators have considered this stele as listing military officers, because of its obvious similarities with other lists mentioning some military duties (IGCyr014800, IGCyr014900, IGCyr015000, IGCyr084000).
The most striking resemblance lies in the columnar disposal and lettering. So a date in the second half of fourth century is here retained, contra Laronde, 1987 Laronde, A., 1987, Cyrène et la Libye hellénistique. Libykai historiai de l’époque républicaine au principat d’Auguste, Paris - see in bibliography , p. 133 («IVe siècle sans plus de précision») and Fraser-Matthews, 1987 Fraser, P.M., Matthews, E. (eds.), 1987, Lexicon of Greek Personal Names, I: The Aegean Islands, Cyprus, Cyrenaica, Oxford - see in bibliography («III B.C.», probably after Blass, whose argument about the name Σμυρναῖος is not binding).
The name of the first man mentioned at b.1 is restored by comparison with IGCyr095200, where he is mentioned as priest of Apollo.
The name at a.14 was tentatively restored by Marengo on the basis of another tentative restoration at IGCyr014300, line 6, which we eventually prefer not to push forward.
