Commentary

Mego was a member of a proeminent family, whose monumental tomb is well known.

Because of its larger dimensions, Beschi was able to suspect that the half-bust placed upon this base was n. 38 of his catalogue.

Oliverio, 1933-1936 , p. 116, footnote 1, explained that he could only give drawings of the bases from Mnasarkhoi tomb and would publish the photographs in a next section, but that never happened.
