Commentary

The lettering is very similar to that of list IGCyr014800, but the fragment does not match its missing parts.

Two rare names appear now on epitaphs of the third century: Damasanor as father of Kleo in IGCyr121800 and Semer as father of Phero in IGCyr105700. In both cases, a family link is plausible, but it is difficult to be more precise because of the gap in time.

For the name at line b.10 Masson's idea of a personal name derived from the ethnic of the Western city of Cyrenaica is very convincing. However the full form Εὐεσπερίτας seems too long by comparison with the surviving parts of other names; we thus prefer the shorter and locally usual form Ἑσπερίτας.
