Commentary

The stone was published by Pugliese in SECir , 124 from a drawing in Oliverio's papers and has never been seen by anyone else.

The father's name might be a compound in -γένης, in -μένης or in -σθένης. Βακαλ is a name typical of Cyrenaica and rather rare, but no example is known in relation with the possible forms mentioned above.
