The stone was published by Pugliese in SECir Oliverio, G., Pugliese-Carratelli, G., Morelli, D., 1961-1962, Supplemento Epigrafico Cirenaico, Annuario della Scuola Archeologica di Atene e delle Missioni Italiane in Oriente (ASAA)39-40 (= n.s. 23-24), 219-375 - see in bibliography , 124 from a drawing in Oliverio's papers and has never been seen by anyone else.
The father's name might be a compound in -γένης, in -μένης or in -σθένης. Βακαλ is a name typical of Cyrenaica and rather rare, but no example is known in relation with the possible forms mentioned above.
