White marble base, reddish from earth, with plain mouldings on top and below on three sides (0.60; 0.25;0.49).

Layout

Inscribed in two lines on the face, between the mouldings (0.54; 0.14;0.47).

Letters

0.03, very light serifs; slanting mu, smaller omicron, horse-shoe shaped omega.

Freshly exposed, probably by robbers, in 2004 before the westernmost out of five loculi at Cyrene : North Necropolis , tomb N27 Cassels.

Commentary

This woman's name is not attested elsewhere but has the suffix of feminine name very common in Cyrenaica. The corresponding masculine Protimos is known in other regions. The father's name Nikaios is attested in the fourth century too many times to allow any prosopographical link.
