Commentary

The poor condition of the face allows only to guess that we have here personal names and the support, which should have been made of several similar blocks, allows to imagine that they were those of persons dedicating the monument or honouring a person whose image stood on it.

At line 1, we have either the genitive of a man's name, which might be Κρατέας, not yet attested in Cyrenaica, or the nominative of a woman's name, either a compound in -κράτεια or a short form Κράτεια, both in the variant form without iota (see Dobias-Lalou, 2005 , pp. 594-597).

At line 2, the first letter might belong either to the conjunction καί 'and' or to another personal name. As the last letter of this line may be either an omicron or an omega, we surely have the genitive of a man's name, but we cannot decide between [Λ]ύσιο[ς] and [Διον]υσίω vel sim .
