The first name is a form of ktetikon with the suffix -ικός added to a place or city name in -αια, αιος, εια or similar. As an adjective, Ἀχαιικός is already attested in Homer; yet its use as a personal name seems to begin in Greece only in the imperial period in relation with the name of the Roman province of Achaia. It is impossible to guess which adjective was used here as a personal name. We can only point at the dialectal preservation of the hiatus -αιι, which is paralleled in the personal name Ἐλαιίτας and which happens to be also built upon a place name with a suffix beginning with i .
