Commentary

Although having got from both origins two different copies, Franz (followed by Blass) brought together this inscription and IGCyr008260, only because they offer the same names. However they were presented on Pacho's table in separate groups. In fact, both names Philon and Damis are very frequent at Cyrene. There was no reason to bring them together.

In fact, recent excavations by the mission of the University of Chieti, to be soon published, give new insights. Whereas IGCyr008260 has been found again and located in a precise tomb, no trace of this base has been found there. So we may conclude that it had been seen by Pacho at another place of one of Cyrene's necropoleis.
