White marble small base with double mouldings, probably plain, but severely chipped on all sides (0.34; 0.135;0.18); square hole in the centre of the upper side.

Commentary
As the deceased is a foreigner, it is not surprising that his name is spelled in a non-dialectal form.
The Thorn's assumption that the base comes from the North Necropolis is due to the fact that the Italian archaeologists seem to have excavated only in that part before World War II.
