The above text reflects the modern restoration made in 1930-32 by Gismondi, with one metope not inscribed at each end of the frieze. If the other six ones were really inscribed, we must infer that two names are missing. This has never been mentioned by the previous commentators. Pugliese Carratelli, with help of photographs and copies found in Oliverio's papers, was able to join the parts inscribed viz. on the architrave and on the metopes and published separately by Oliverio. However Pugliese does not seem to have realised that they belonged to the Strategeion, which he could see already reconstructed with the two parts in the reverse order. About that restoration, see the annual archaelogical reports now published by Luni, 2014 Luni, M., 2014, Attività di Carlo Anti, Luigi Pernier e Gaspare Oliverio (1923-1938), in M. Luni (ed.), La scoperta di Cirene. Un secolo di scavi, 1913-2013, Monografie di archeologia libica37, Cirene Atene d'Africa8, Roma, 123-156 - see in bibliography , pp. 133-137.
