Layout

Inscribed in two lines on front face (0.34 to 0.39; 1.05;0.235 to 0.275).

0.04; no serifs, symmetrical nu, slanting sigma, widely open upsilon and omega.

Commentary

Unfortunately the stone could not be photographed and no squeeze was made. We can only offer a drawing.

The father's name is a variant of Μύρτιλος, which is more common in the region both in reference to the plant which also produced the epithet of Apollo Myrtoos and with the name of a mythical hero (see Dobias-Lalou, 2010 , p. 98).
