Pugliese Carratelli published this inscription from a drawing by Oliverio, hesitantely adding that the stone came from the excavations of the 'Piazzale', a word that means either the lower terrace of the Sanctuary of Apollo or the Fountain Terrace. Other items registered in the same notebook of Oliverio's were found in 1925, when excavations were operated only in the lower terrace. The excavations on the Fountain Terrace took place from 1929 to 1933. So the exact date and findplace remain unclear.
For line 1, no Greek name in -κιος is attested in Cyrene, whereas a series of names in -κις does. So both endings should be taken as genitives of fathers' names.
For line 2, we know of a Cyrenaean Θερσίλας at IGCyr014700 line 35. However, other compounds in -σίλας are also possible.
