Commentary

Personal names ending with -λης might be compounds in -κλῆς, -θάλης or -τέλης. The names of a Megakles and of an Eukles are mentioned in IGCyr109300, respectively at ll. 25-26 and 50-51, in a list that might record priests of the third century B.C. But with this large lacuna and without father's name, it is impossible to identify the present dedicant with any of them.

The short word missing at the beginning of line 3 should be an accusative plural and escapes restoration. One might think of ὀπάς 'opening, door, window'. The existing occurrences have the singular cut on the very lintel of doors (see IGCyr017300, IGCyr020700, IGCyr022400, all three monumental doors and IGCyr007000, which is a loculus in a tomb). The support is here quite different and the hypothesis thus very hazardous.
